Lent Prepare

Lent is a time to prepare our hearts for Easter and to think about our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. It spans 40 days and represents the period when Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert. During this time, he didn't eat or drink anything.

Today many Christians have the tradition of “giving up” some-thing for Lent or dedicating themselves to greater service during Lent as a way of focusing more attention on our Savior. This can be a good Lenten custom and help prepare us for Easter, and so this Lenten Season we will look at Lenten Customs, like almsgiving, prayer, and fasting among others.

As we focus on these Lenten Customs, we also remember that more than “giving up” something or “doing something,” Lent is a bold exhortation to “repent” and return to the Lord!
