Rev. Bryan Edward Drebes was born in Hannibal, Missouri to Arthur C. and Barbara J. Drebes. He was baptized into Christ and confirmed in his baptismal grace at Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra, Missouri. He graduated from Zion Lutheran Day School and attended Palmyra High School. Both schools are located in Palmyra — Pastor Drebes’ hometown. He graduated from St. Paul’s Lutheran High School, Concordia, Missouri.
In the fall of 1991 Pastor Drebes enrolled at Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska. In 1992, he withdrew from Concordia in order to undertake a fulltime career with Ozark National Life and N.I.S. Financial Services. Both companies are located in Kansas City, Missouri. In the fall of 1994 Pastor Drebes re-enrolled at Concordia—Seward. In the fall of 1995 he was chosen to study abroad for one semester at Oak Hill Theological College, London, England. Pastor Drebes finished his last year of undergraduate studies under the simultaneous enrollment program of the Concordia University System, at Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. He graduated from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska in the spring of 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In September, 1997 Pastor Drebes enrolled at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri. In the summer of 1999, he taught English to Chinese middle school teachers in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. Following a summer of teaching, he began his vicarage year. He served a four month vicarage at St. John Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Wisconsin. The remaining eight months were served at Bethany Lutheran Church, Overland Park, Kansas. Pastor Drebes was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry at Zion Lutheran Church, Palmyra, Missouri on Sunday, August 19, 2001. He was installed as Associate Pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church , Overland Park, Kansas on Sunday, September 9, 2001. He served Bethany for 14 years. On October 25, 2015 he was extended a Divine Call to be Senior Pastor at Pacific Hills Lutheran Church. Pastor Drebes accepted this Divine Call on November 12, 2015.
Pastor Drebes is married. His wife’s name is Cheryl. Until the Divine Call to Pacific Hills they both have resided in Overland Park, Kansas. Pastor’s hobbies include traveling, bowling, baseball and bicycle riding. He and Cheryl do not have pets. Pastor is horribly allergic to cats and absolutely hates liver and onions.
