From Pastor Bill Moorhead:

I was born on June 12, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, and presented by my parents for baptism on July 27, 1947. We moved to Kansas from Burlington, Iowa,  in 1951 and to Lawrence, KS, in 1955, where I was confirmed in 1960. I graduated from Lawrence High in 1965 and began my college years that fall at St. John's Lutheran Junior College in Winfield, Kansas, then entered Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, from which I graduated in 1969. I married Martha Evalyn Beery, my high school sweetheart, on June 22, 1969.

I had felt for some time called by our Lord to the Holy Ministry, and so in the fall of 1969, I began my seminary studies at Concordia Seminary, in St. Louis, Missouri. I completed my vicarage at Redeemer Lutheran, in Marquette, Michigan in 1972, and graduated from the Seminary in 1973. I was ordained at my home church, Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Lawrence, Kansas on June 17, 1973 and installed July 1 in a dual parish: Zion Lutheran, Latimer, Kansas, and Immanuel Lutheran, Herington, Kansas. In 1976 Martha and I were blessed with the gift of our daughter and only child, Sarah.

In 1977, I was called as Assistant Pastor to Pacific Hills Lutheran, in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1989, Pacific Hills called me as Senior Pastor. In 1986 I received my Doctor of Ministry from Christ Seminary/LSTC, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1999 Martha and I were blessed by the marriage of our daughter Sarah to Jarvis Stirn, of Manhattan, Kansas.  They currently reside in Lawrence.

Over the years in Omaha I have been privileged to serve various community organizations. Presently, these include the Sertoma Club of Omaha, the Omaha Mayor's Clergy Advisory Board, and Lutheran Youth Encounter, a national youth ministry organization based in St. Paul, MN. In 2004 I was honored to be elected as a delegate to the LCMS National Convention. I was recently appointed by our synodical president to a special Blue Ribbon Task Force on Synod Structure and Governance.  I have also written extensively for our publishing house, Concordia Publishing House in St. Louis.

Matt Schneider was born and baptized in Peoria, Illinois in 1980.  He graduated from     Illinois Wesleyan University in 2002 with the degree of Bachelor of Music Education, and he taught junior and senior high school choral music for one year before pursuing a Master's Degree in choral conducting at the University of California, Irvine.

In the course of working toward the Master's Degree it became clear that God had other plans in store, and Matt entered Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 2005.  Upon graduation, Matt received his first call as associate pastor to Pacific Hills Lutheran in 2009.
